The Ford Mustang is a car that is as iconic as the brand itself, thanks to its extreme popularity in television and films. This American muscle car icon is offered in Malaysia in two forms - an all-new downsized 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder and GT 5.0 V8 priced at RM488,888 and RM598,888 respectively. It should be noted that this is the first time ever that this pony car has been made available in right-hand drive form.
The entry-level model's turbocharged 2.3-litre GTDI engine churns out 317 hp at 5,500rpm and 432 Nm of torque. The range-topper, on the other hand, features a good ol' naturally aspirated 5.0-litre American V8 rated at 416 hp at 6,500rpm and 530Nm at 4,250rpm. Not surprisingly, the transmission option for Malaysian market Mustangs is limited to a six-speed automatic with SelectShift, driving only the rear axle, which is for the first time - multi-link independent rear suspension.
The Ford Mustang won the 'Performance Car of the Year' award, hosted by iCar Asia. Dubbed the Oscars of the automotive industry, the iCar Asia People’s Choice Awards 2017 bestows the highest accolade to the crème de la crème in the automotive industry.
“The iCar Asia People’s Choice Awards gave Malaysians a chance to voice their opinion and express their perspective and perception of the cars launched in 2017, whether based on their own experience, price point, car design or even what they perceived about the car brands and models available in the marketplace,” explained Hamish Stone, iCar Asia’s Chief Executive Officer.

Ford Mustang 2.3 EcoBoost – Efficiency Has Never Looked So Cool
Under pale white light it sat. The yellow lines etched across the slippery concrete floor barely enough to contain its near 2.0 meter width. At 4.78 meters long – the nose juts out from the parking lot, revealing the soft curves of the wheel arches that draw down towards sleek, menacing looking headlamps.View full review
