2018 Honda Civic
Honda Malaysia’s contender in one of the fastest growing segments in Malaysia is the Honda Civic. It competes with other C-segment sedans like the Hyundai Elantra, Kia Cerato, Proton Inspira, Renault Fluence, Chevrolet Cruze, Nissan Sylphy, Mazda 3 and Ford Focus Sedan. Priced from RM110,726, the Japanese sedan is sold in three variants- 1.8 S, 1.5 TC and 1.5 TC-P.
The base Civic features a naturally aspirated 1.8-litre SOHC i-VTEC mill, carried over from its predecessor, which is good for 141hp and 174Nm of torque. The other two more premium variants however feature the marque's brand new 1.5-litre four-cylinder VTEC Turbo engine that sends 173hp and 220Nm of torque to the front wheels.
The only transmission option available for the Malaysian-market Civic is a CVT transmission. Honda claims its new engine can offer a class-leading fuel consumption of 5.8-litre per 100km, while also being able to do the century sprint in a respectable 8.2 seconds.
