The Honda Jazz is a hatchback that is based on the City sedan. Competing in the popular B-segment, the Jazz faces some stiff competition from the likes of Volkswagen Polo, Mazda 2, Kia Rio, Peugeot 208, and Ford Fiesta Sport.
This famous hatchback packs the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder engine carried forward from its predecessor. Power output stands at 120 PS and 145Nm of torque. A continuously variable automatic transmission is employed to send the power to the front wheels. This combination delivers one of the best fuel efficiency in its class, at 17.2 km/L.
A facelift of the Jazz was launched in June 2017 introducing three petrol grades and was quickly followed by a new Hybrid variant.
Malaysia is the only country apart from Japan that has the Jazz Sport Hybrid i-DCD on sale. The Sport Hybrid powertrain system is a combination of a 110 PS 1.5-litre petrol engine, a 30 PS electric motor and a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The combined system output is 137 hp and 170 Nm of torque. The Sport Hybrid is also capable of driving in electric mode (EV) at start up and coast with pure electric at speeds of up to 70 km/h.
The Jazz Sport Hybrid returns a very impressive fuel efficiency of 25 km/L.
The petrol line-up starts with the 1.5 S at RM72,510 OTR without insurance. The top of the range 1.5 V is priced at RM85,750, whilst the recently-added Sport Hybrid model is priced at RM84,880.
Notable features in the Jazz include its clever Ultra seat, cruise control, multi-angle reverse camera and 6.8-inch display audio.
All new Honda models come with a 5-year, unlimited mileage warranty and even free labour fees at certain service intervals. The hybrid battery receives a warranty coverage of 8 years with an unlimited mileage.

Review: Honda Jazz Sport Hybrid – There’s No Boot Space!
This particular unit is the Jazz Sport Hybrid – the sole hybrid variant offered with this generation of the Jazz. It’s important to remember that this was also a big step forward for Honda as it was one of their earlier models to come with a dual-clutch transmission – especially in Malaysia. It also carries the torch for compact Honda hybrids as the Insight and CR-Z have graciously bowed out in years past.View full review
