The Jaguar XE is the Brits' answer to the popular BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Audi A4.

Launched at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the XE was famed for its use of aluminium in its suspension components. Additionally, the XE also features a riveted and bonded aluminium monocoque chassis, a first in the premium compact segment.

For the Malaysian market, Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia offers the XE in two trim levels, the Prestige and R-Sport. Both share a similar 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine though with different output figures. The XE 2.0 Prestige does 200 hp and 280 Nm, while the R-Sport ups that by offering 240 hp and 340 Nm. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic that sends power to the rear wheels.
