2018 Lexus NX
Starting 2018, all Lexus NX variants will drop the pre-facelift model’s 200t model designation for a new 300 series designation. As such, the new model is now known as Lexus NX 300.
Mechanically, it remains unchanged. Under the bonnet is the same 8AR-FTS 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, an engine which offers one of the most linear acceleration in its class, with none of the mild but noticeable delay in throttle response that’s evident amongst its similarly turbocharged German rivals.
The most obvious difference in the facelift model is the new triple beam LED headlamps, which uses the same ultra-slim lighting technology as the Lexus LC 500. The Lexus’ signature spindle grille has also been mildly tweaked, as is the rear bumper and tail light.
Inside, the infotainment display has been enlarged to 10.3-inch (only available for F Sport variants) and now spots more refined graphics. Controls for the air-conditioning and the analogue clock is now larger.
Ride and handling has also been improved. The new NX 300 features a revised suspension tuning, for improved turn-in response and ride quality of the NX 300. The higher range F Sport variant benefit even better ride and handling improvements, as the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) has been upgraded to offer a range of up to 650 instantaneous compression and damping adjustment, versus 30 of the old.
