Key Highlights
Overview
The Mazda CX-3 is sold here in a sole variant, with a 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G engine and a starting price of RM134,338. Riding on the underpinnings of the Mazda 2, the fully-imported Japanese compact SUV rivals models such as the Honda HR-V, Mitsubishi ASX, Renault Captur, and Peugeot 2008 locally.
Under the hood is a direct injection 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder petrol engine, paired to the carmaker's very own Skyactiv six-speed torque converter type automatic transmission. The Skyactive-G engine is capable of producing 154 hp at 6,000 rpm and 204 Nm of torque from 2,800rpm.
The Japan-sourced Mazda CX-3 sold by Bermaz comes in only a front-wheel drive configuration.
Being premium priced compared to every competitor of this size, the CX-3 comes with almost everything the trendy and emotional consumer expects. On the exterior, there are LED headlamps with adaptive swiveling feature, 18-inch wheels, dual outlet exhaust muffler, auto wipers and a moonroof.
The interior meanwhile is packed to the brim with features, such as head-up display (HUD), powered driver's seat adjustment with memory function, 7-inch 'MZD' touch screen infotainment system, sporty leather-suede upholstery, reverse camera, cruise control, and stitching on the instrument panel.
All new Mazda CX-3 come with 3 years or 60,000 km (whichever comes first) free maintenance package, and backed by 5 years or 100,000 km mileage manufacturer's warranty (whichever comes first).

Mazda CX-3 - Not quite what it seems
In short, the CX-3 is not for everybody, but in the eyes of Mazda’s intended audience – the Zoom-Zoom drivers crowd - the little CX-3 stands tall with pride.
