The Nissan NP300 Navara faces very stiff competition from pick-up trucks like the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton, Isuzu D-Max, and Mazda BT-50.

The Nissan NP300 Navara range is powered by a 2.5-litre YD25 turbodiesel inline four-cylinder engine, which will feature two different tunes depending on the variant you go for. All models, apart from the VL, will make 163 PS and 403 Nm of torque. The flagship NP300 Navara VL will be good for 190 PS at 3,600rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 2,000rpm.

Prices for the NP300 Navara range begins at RM89,800 for the 2.5 E Manual, while the lowest priced automatic transmission starts with the SE at RM 103,800. The range-topping VL is priced from RM 120,800.

Although the updated mid-tune engine makes less power than the outgoing Navara D40 LE with 174 PS, the new NP300 Navara is far lighter. Combining a lighter kerb weight (-177 kg) and closer ratios of the new 7-speed automatic transmission, the NP300 Navara SE and V grades accelerates better than the outgoing model. Fuel consumption is thus reduced too.

Besides the 7-speed automatic transmission, all double-cab NP300 Navara models come equipped with a multi-link rear suspension with coil spring, against the segment norm of leaf springs. The coil spring setup has been tuned to deliver passenger comfort as well as load carrying.

A manual six-speed and seven-speed automatic transmissions are on offer. The 4x4 variants of the Nissan NP300 Navara will be equipped with an electronically controlled 4WD system which includes (except entry E M/T) Active Brake Limited Slip (ABLS), a clever setting in the Vehicle Dynamics Control and 4WD system that gets the NP300 Navara out of the most tricky terrain.

Following a quiet specification update late in 2017, the Navara NP300 VL variant scored a 5-star rating (through the addition of a driver's knee airbag) in it's second ASEAN NCAP assessment.

All new Nissan NP300 Navara models come with 5-year/150,000 km warranty.

Reliability and Defect

Nissan really makes a good comeback in this model but the interior noisy atmosphere when driving and parts pricing is too much for a daily driven owner. Please improve or at least change to a big screen player. - Less

Happy Navara Owner

The Gold color is a must. It's multi purpose vehicle for daily commute as well as weekend cuti cuti Malaysia cruiser The height of the vehicle make it a very safe cruiser and performance wise is beyond my expectation. 360 degree camera makes it a great 1st family car or additional weekend car - Less

Cheap and Acceptable

I would say the car quality wise it is satisfactory and there is still area for improvement. Such as the build quality, fuel consumption, heavy load condition, after sales service and many more. - Less

Bad product quality

Nissan Malaysia service is terrible and useless! Im owning a Nissan Navara NP300 for 1 year plus and i found out that the door rubber from the driver side attached to the car body is really easilly to get broken. This issue happened more than 1 times and when im trying to claim for warranty,Nissan Malaysia said that this is a wear and tear item and cannot be claimed! In customer point of view, this is because Nissan was given a low or bad quality products so that it is easilly to get broken. So many car and brand i have owned and none from them are having this kind of issue! Somemore this is a pickup truck and is built for tough and adventure driving experience so it shouldnt be so soft(door rubber)! Im very dissappointed on buying a Nissan and will not or recommend it to any of my friends! - Less
