Key Highlights

High quality interior Good road manners Spacious, especially the wagon variant
Plenty of features and equipment Very quiet cabin on the highway cruise An option for a 450Nm diesel sedan

A quick look for a new, European family sedan priced between RM170k to RM200k reveals a small ring of on-going, local competition between the Volkswagen Passat, Ford Mondeo and this - the Peugeot 508.

Three variants are on offer from Nasim Peugeot Malaysia, with two sedan body styles (THP and GT Diesel variants) and one wagon (SW THP).

The THP variant, with pricing starting at RM174,786.29 for sedan and RM184,511 for Wagon SW, has a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that deliver outputs of 165 PS and 240 Nm of torque. A six-speed torque converter automatic is tasked for self-shifting duties.

The GT Diesel only available in the sedan body style is priced from RM202,007. The 2.2-litre turbocharged turbodiesel engine produces a massive 450 Nm of torque and 206 PS of peak power. Mated to the six-speed automatic, the GT Diesel completes the century dash in 8.4 seconds, 0.8 seconds faster than the petrol THP variants.

Standard features include full LED headlamps, blind spot monitoring, keyless entry with push start, 18-inch wheels, 4-zone automatic air conditioning, colour head-up display (HUD), 500-watt JBL 10-speaker setup with Arkamys 3D sound processing, 7-inch infotainment system, reverse camera, and power adjustable front seats.

The GT Diesel adds driver's seat with memory and massaging function, Nappa leather upholstery and 19-inch wheels with 235/40 tyres.

The SW THP wagon only adds a panoramic glassroof and power operation tailgate over the sedan variant.

Continental on a budget

Spacious and comfortable car to drive around. But as for most continental cars it has to be taken care of carefully. Engine overhaul or replacement is usual for this car so make sure u get it done before the warranty ends. Parts are easy to find but takes quite some time if u are claiming it under warranty. But all in all, driving experience was a fun one. 1.6 turbo on this car is powerful and there's no problem at all overtaking even uphill. Comfortable and very stable on highways. - Less

Nice to drive, not pleasant to own.

Driving experience wise it's a beautiful car to daily as well as for long distance journeys. But really disappointed with the quality of after sales service by Nasim. I will never buy a car if the main hq is from nasim or naza again. The car may have it's own set of problems but i wont blame that on the service centres but they could at least make the ownership experience more pleasant but handling our problems more efficiently. You can't even get through the general line! - Less

For those who does not Play safe!

Many people choose a Japanese / Korean car brands because they want to play safe. Because of resale value, easy spare parts etc. The thing is "Play safe" means bland and NOT exciting. Furthermore, Nasim provides an extended warranty for up to 7 years. And I never had any issue or faulty. - Less
