Key Highlights
Overview
TC Euro Cars, the official distributor of Renault vehicles in Malaysia offers the compact Captur SUV in a single variant with a price tag of RM109,000. Like the Peugeot 2008, Mazda CX-3 and Mitsubishi ASX that it competes with, this French B-segment SUV rides on the underpinnings of a compact hatchback, which in this case is the Renault Clio.
The Renault Captur features the carmaker's turbocharged 1.2-litre (Road tax is only RM 55 per annum) four-cylinder TCe 120 engine that will be good for 120 PS and 190 Nm of torque. The sole transmission option for us will be a six-speed efficient dual-clutch (EDC) automatic unit. Claimed consumption figures for the local-spec Captur is listed at 5.4-litres/100km.
The Captur is quite well specced and funky looking too, with two-tone exterior colours in bright shades, ESC, 4 airbags, automatic wipers, automatic air conditioning, and 7-inch infotainment system with reverse camera. The keyless access system even fits nicely into the wallet, as it sized like a credit card, albeit a bit thicker.
The Renault Captur comes with a five-year, unlimited mileage warranty.

2015 Renault Captur - The Most Entertaining Crossover Yet?
The Renault Captur's 1.2-litre engine's benefits of forced induction are in fuel economy and a fat torque curve- with maximum torque from just 2,000 rpm, overtaking in city traffic is hardly a problem. The EDC shifts reasonably quickly and smoothly with very few noticeable quirks of the dual clutch system.
