Based upon the Renault-Nissan CMF architecture that also underpins the Nissan X-Trail T32, the Samsung-Korean-made Koleos 2.5 is offered in the Malaysian market with:
- Koleos 2WD - RM 184,200
- Koleos 2WD Signature - RM198,800
- Koleos AWD - RM209,000
Powering all variants of the Koleos is Nissan’s 2.5-litre QR25DE port-injected four-cylinder petrol engine rated with outputs of 171 PS and 226 Nm. The standard transmission is the Jatco-sourced X-Tronic CVT.
Exclusive to the AWD variant is Nissan’s All-Mode 4x4-i technology also found in the X-Trail 2.5 AWD with which the Koleos shares much of its running gear. Through a dash-mounted switch, the system offers three driving modes – 2WD, 4WD Auto, and 4WD Lock.
In 4WD Auto mode, the system automatically varies front-rear torque distribution between fully front and 50:50. Meanwhile, in 4WD Lock (operable below 40 km/h only), the drivetrain is locked into a 50:50 torque split.
The Koleos comes featured with niceties such as LED head lamps, 18-inch wheels, R-link 8.7-inch portrait touchscreen, blind spot warning, Arkamys 3D sound with 8 speakers, and 7-inch virtual display meter.
The 2WD Signature gets brown interior, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, panoramic moonroof with opening front pane, and handsfree powered tailgate.
All models come with a five-year full manufacturer’s warranty with unlimited mileage.

2017 Renault Koleos AWD - Second Time Lucky
What we love about this Koleos’ design is that, even though it is essentially an X-Trail underneath, it looks nothing like it and portrays a much more premium appearance. Well, not as comfy or luxurious as a Lexus but definitely better than a CR-V or a CX-5.View full review
