2020 Volkswagen Beetle

80 years ago, the Volkswagen Beetle was born. And it's been a hit ever since, even up to this day, and possibly with an electric, rear-wheel drive future in mind. But for the here and now, Volkswagen's current generation Beetle has seen numerous iterations and limited-run models to cement its place in the legacy of the Beetle name.

VPCM offers the Beetle (at least in steady supply) in two variants (fully-imported from Mexico), the Design and the Sport. The Beetle Design, priced from RM136,888 gets you 16-inch wheels, body-coloured dash pad, centre console in platinum grey, 5.8" touchscreen display infotainment with 8 speakers, comfort front seats in fabric, and manual air conditioning.

The Beetle Sport is priced from RM147,888 and gets you niceties (over the Design) such as paddle shifters, cruise control, 2-zone Climatronic air-conditioning system, 6.5” Composition media with a touchscreen display with App-Connect, leather trim “Vienna” seats with sport front seats, bi-xenon headlamps and LED daytime running lights. 

Both variants are powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged TSI engine with an output of 105 PS and 175 Nm of torque paired with a 7-speed DSG.

All new Beetle models purchased in 2018-2019-2020 also include a free 3-year service package. Volkswagen models have a service interval of 15,000 kilometres or every 12 months from the date of registration. All new Volkswagen passenger vehicles purchased from an authorised Volkswagen Dealership in Malaysia qualify for a 5-year New Vehicle Warranty. 

Be on the lookout, as VPCM tend to offer special edition Beetles once in a while, such as the 60th Merdeka edition, the Beetle Dune 1.4 TSI and also the Club and Bug editions, and they sell-out pretty fast!
