The largest SUV in Volvo Malaysia's line-up is the second-generation XC90. The only variant available for now is the plug-in hybrid T8 Twin Engine, which will set you back a cool RM403,888. Competition for this good looking Swedish high rider comes in the form of the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Audi Q7, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Infiniti QX70, and Lexus RX.
Powered by a turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol mill and a 87hp/240Nm electric motor combo, the XC90 T8 Twin Engine pumps out an impressive 407hp and 640Nm of twist. With an eight-speed automatic transmission employed, it can complete the century sprint in just 5.6 seconds before topping off at 230km/h.
Whats more interesting is that this 2.3-tonne SUV is claimed to have an electric only driving range up to 40km, while the fuel consumption figure on the combined cycle is rated at just 2.1-litres per 100km.
