Overview

Go Auto, Malaysia’s sole distributor of Haval cars has introduced its flavour of the urban crossover with the introduction of the H2. Now if you aren’t too familiar with the brand, the H2 is actually the second model after Haval H1 (a.k.a. M4), which was first introduced in late 2014.

The Haval H2 is supplemented by a MacPherson strut setup at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear; a 2560mm wheelbase in between puts it right alongside other Japanese C-Segment crossovers such as the Honda HR-V and Mazda CX-3.

Go Auto has offered the H2 in two variants, Comfort (RM98,950) and Premium (RM101,950), both in the automatic transmission. Since September 2017, the H2 has been assembled at Go Auto Manufacturing facility in Gurun, Kedah.

Powering the Haval H2 is a turbocharged, 1.5-litre VVT petrol engine that is paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox, producing 147 PS and 210 Nm of torque.

The H2 features keyless entry system, push start ignition, a multifunction meter panel, steering wheel control buttons, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, a 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat, electronic parking brake, as well as an adjustable sunroof.

On the safety front, there are six airbags (dual front, dual front side and side curtain), reverse sensors and cameras, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ESP and a front active headrest.

The main differences between the Comfort and Premium variants lie only with the addition of dual-colour leather seats that also compliment the dual-tone colours of the exterior. The Premium variants have white or black roof colours that start around the A- and C-pillars, plus red-painted front brake calipers.

According to Go Auto, Haval units that are purchased through official authorised channels will come with a 7-year unlimited mileage manufacturer’s warranty.
