Overview

The Toyota Innova has found its way into many Malaysian families that needed a comfortable eight-seater, due to its affordable price. First launched back in May 2005, the Toyota Innova is the replacement for the Toyota Unser.

Powering this eight-seat MPV is a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-pot that churns out 139hp at 5,600rpm and 183Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Drive is sent to the wheels via a five-speed stick shift transmission in the base model, while the automatic variants feature a six-speeder with Sequential Shifter.

And now that the new Innova gets Dual VVT-I technology, the MPV's fuel consumption has improved from 11.2L/100km to 9.1L/100km, making it an Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV).

Toyota recently introduced a more premium Innova, called the Innova X. This model adds LED headlamps and DRL, gloss black 17-inch wheels, bodykit, individual captain seats replacing the bench seat (making it a 7-seater instead), powered driver's seat and leather upholstery.

The Innova also benefits from a five-year, unlimited mileage manufacturer warranty which is fully transferable to the next owner if the vehicle is sold off during the warranty tenure.

Toyota Innova 2.0X– Crossover Meets MPV

One feature we find absolutely useful and befitting the captain-seat premium image in the Innova X is the fitment of the front passenger seat slide lever. Mounted on the right shoulder, this lever allows the driver or second-row left passenger to slide the front passenger seat for more leg room

2017 Toyota Innova – The Salary Man’s Alphard

Upon hopping into the new Innova, we were greeted by a cabin which looked like a more affordable version of the Alphard to be honest. The multi-info instrument panel, the redesigned dashboard clad in material that look much more premium than the outgoing model, the steering wheel which comprised a combination of wood and leather, ambient lighting, impressive audio system, the 8-inch touch screen infotainment system (optional), and the “striped” black striped seats did not only feel easy on the eye, but also on our hands.

Best Mpv car fits for whole family.

It's super quiet and large in space to occupy family of 7. It's high as a fortuner. And it's very compatible. Best car compare to other Mpv models out there. Maintenance wise is also affordable and received best treatment during a visit to service centers. Overall Toyota Innova made to carry family of 7 and unique and stylish in its own way. Review Innova 2018

The current Innova introduced in late 2016 has improved ride and NVH over its predecessor. However, the better ride comfort is at the expense of especially when cornering.handling has gotten worse due to The car tilts badly. And UMW wasnt so responsive to market and reality demands to having a turbo diesel option. After all, it uses the Hilux chassis; so what is so difficult plonking in the diesel plant from the Hilux too? The Innova is just too heavy for the 2.0 litre plant to give it decent performance. A diesel option is the way to go; economical and powerful. The white paint on my car is simply lousy. Extremely poor quality. Battery also of the smallest meant for Kancil they plonked into Innova. Just not meant for it but UMW cutting serious corners. You on a budget and you need a cheap & good people mover, this is it. Just a tad underpowered. I drive the manual but again disappointed that UMW didnt use the 6 speed manual. Sad... - Less

SUV like MPV

Been driving my Innova 2.0X for 1 year & 4 months. Overall I'm happy with everything includes fuel consumption. The best I got 14km/l with this size body. Low maintenance cost by Toyota SVC. Just a little patience needs on the acceleration. It's better if UMW can bring in turbo diesel version. - Less
