Key Highlights
Overview
If you are a fan of Honda’s large MPV you would have noticed that the Odyssey has grown somewhat in height. No longer does it boast car-like proportions with low-roof and sleek proportions. Instead, it has now adopted a ‘high-roof’ shape along with a pair of electrically operated sliding door. Gone are the low-slung car-like seats, and in its place, the Odyssey now boasts a pair of captain seats in the second row, with additional seating for three more friends and family in the third row behind.
Recently, Honda Malaysia introduced the updated Odyssey, with the big news in the updated Odyssey is the inclusion of the Honda Sensing, which includes the following features:
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
However, unlike the CR-V, the Odyssey does not come with Low-Speed Follow, as the function requires an electric parking brake. The Honda Accord, which also uses a conventional mechanical parking brake, also does not come with Low-Speed Follow.
All these are available in the sole variant, the Odyssey 2.4 EXV.
Powering the Odyssey is the same powerplant package as before - the Honda’s Earth Dreams 2.4-litre DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine producing 175 PS and 225 Nm, paired to a CVT-type automatic transmission.
The Honda Odyssey is backed up by Honda’s five-year warranty with unlimited mileage, with up to six free labour services, and an extended service interval of 10,000km.
