Mercedes-Benz B-Class 2021-2022
The second-generation refreshed Mercedes-Benz B-Class is the car maker’s sports tourer that shares its platform with the third-generation A-Class and it is larger than the car it is based on. Only one variant makes its way onto our shores, in the form of the B200 priced at RM218,888.
Competition for this model comes directly from its arch nemesis in the form of the 2015 BMW 2 Series Active Tourer (which has since been dropped off BMW Malaysia's official price list).
In the B200, a 1.6-litre turbocharged in-line four-cylinder engine provides 156hp at 5,300 rpm and 250Nm torque between 1,250 to 4,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a 7G-DCT seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Official performance figures indicate a top speed of 200 km/h with the century sprint accomplished in 8.4 seconds. Combined fuel consumption is 5.8 litres per 100 km.
Among the unique features in this B200 are: LED head lamps, comfort suspension, 18-inch wheels, reverse camera, power adjustable front seats with memory function, 8-inch display infotainment system, autonomous emergency braking, and tray tables for rear passengers.

2017 Mercedes-Benz B200 – Practical With A Touch Of Sportiness
The year 1997 played witness to not one, not two, but many events that shook the world. It was the year Microsoft became the most valuable company in the world, Mike Tyson bit a chunk of Evander Holyfield’s ear off in what was supposed to be a boxing match, Princess Diana and Mother Teresa died, Madeleine Albright became the first female Secretary of State in the US, and Mercedes-Benz decided to enter the small car market with the A-Class.
